In this clever retelling of the traditional story, Rumpelstiltskin’s daughter is stuck in the same position her mother once was – locked in a room spinning straw for a king! Rumpelstiltskin’s daughter is not so willing to ask for help because she wants to be the hero of her own story! This book is a great representation of cleverness and kindness winning the day. This book is a little bit text heavy, but is great to read as a class in middle elementary school grades! This is not a story of a damsel in distress; this damsel can save herself.
This is a great resource that provides some jumping-off points for activities to do with this book!
This is an animated video that shows the original Rumpelstiltskin story.
