Aliens for Breakfast

Basic Info:

Written by Stephanie Spinner and Jonathan Etra. Illustrated by Steve Bjorkman. Published by Random House in 1988.

Book Review:

Aliens for Breakfast is about a boy named Richard Bickerstaff, who is a perfectly normal boy until one day, an alien named Aric comes out of his cereal box. Aric tells Richard that Aliens have invaded the Earth and are going to try to take over using mind-control! Richard and Aric must work together to save the world before the bad aliens (Dranes) take over! This is a great tale of teamwork and adventuring. It’s great for any children just beginning their chapter book journey who love grand adventures, or maybe just love pondering the idea of aliens!

Resources:

Children who love this book will love to complete the trilogy with Aliens for Lunch and Aliens for Dinner!

This is a great lesson plan for using this book to foster reading-level appropriate literacy skills!
