The Marvelous Thing that Came from a Spring

Basic Info:

Written and illustrated by Gilbert Ford. Published by Atheneum Books for Young Readers in 2016.

Book Review:

The Marvelous Thing that Came from a Spring is the true story about the accidental invention of the slinky and how its invention changed the lives of those who invented it. This book has not received any awards, but it is great for illustrating the importance of tinkering and creativity. This book is good for young readers (kindergarten with help through 5th or 6th grade) who love tinkering and inventing new things, especially for those who might get into trouble for such activities.
